Video Streaming Research Engineer

Job Summary

As a Video Streaming Research Engineer, you’ll be responsible for algorithms research and prototyping of a low latency video streaming solution. It will be used for bidirectional communication/conferencing, which works reliably in different network conditions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor or Master degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, machine learning or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of algorithm design, math, statistics
  • Strong knowledge of video and audio encoding technologies
  • Deep understanding of network programming, VoIP and Video over IP
  • Extensive practical knowledge of one or more of the common streaming/control protocols — WebRTC, RTP/RTCP, RTSP, SIP
  • Programming languages experience: С, С++(11+) is mandatory; Python, Ruby, Go (at least one of them) would be an advantage
  • Knowledge and experience in one of the following fields: Video and/or Image processing, Video and/or Image Compression standards such as H.264, H.265, VP9, AV1
  • Practical experience with popular media frameworks - GStreamer, FFMpeg, LiveMedia, LibAV (at least one of them)
  • Problem-solving skills, ability to dive deep to find the root of the problem
  • Understanding of SDP principles and cycle
  • Good written and spoken English
